The Marriage of Lady Fatima and Imam Ali (A.S.)
The extraordinary virtues of Lady Fatima (p.b.u.h) on one hand, her blood relations with the Prophet on the other hand, and the nobility of her family furthermore, caused many of the high-ranking supporters of the Prophet to propose to her; but all heard negative answers; each time, the Prophet (s) saying: “Her matter is in the hands of her Lord.”
But when Imam Ali (s) expressed his tendency to marry Lady Fatima, the Prophet became cheerful and smiled and Lady Fatima kept quiet. The Prophet interpreted her silence as her assent, then read the sermon of marriage; declared Ali and Fatima husband and wife, and invoked the blessings of Allah upon both of them. All the guests congratulated and feasted upon lamb meat, bread, date fruit and milk. Certainly the dowry of the holy Fatima was not more than 500 dirhams and less than 400 dirhams, while the dowry (tocher/jihaz) of the holiness was prepared with it.
The entire marriage ceremonies of the most important personalities of lslam, were performed in the simplest and most modest way. This was a model for all the faithful to follow, and was a perfect example of an Islamic marriage.

Imam Al_Jawad's biography
Imam Mohammad_ibn_ Ali (a.s) was born on the 10th of Rajab 195 AH in Medina. His father Imam_ar_Redha (a.s) had undertaken his upbringing and shed rays of light from his great soul onto him. His famous epithets are Al_Jawad (the generous) and Al_Tagiy (the pious). Al_Ma’moon, the Abbasi caliph, had tried to deceive him with different types of provocations, but he was not deceived.
When his father was martyred, he was only 7 years old. He undertook the imamate and the religious leadership after his father for 17 years and he was martyred at the age of 25. He with his talents, geniuses and great endless scientific abilities has proven luminous realities adopted by the Shia, that an Imam must be the most aware and virtuous of the people of his time and the one who has more knowledge than any one else, regardless of being young or old. He always answered all complicated philosophical, theological and jurisprudential questions that were asked by famous scholars.
He established the bases of knowledge and used his short holy life to spread knowledge, teach different sciences and merge intellect with Islamic sciences and literature. A great number of scholars and narrators joined him to learn different Islamic sciences.
