The Verses of “Mubahila”
In the year 9 AH Prophet Mohamed (SAW) wrote some letters to the heads of different tribes and countries of the world inviting them to Islam. One of them was written to the Christian community of Najran. They asked the Prophet (SAW) what he thought of Jesus and he said: “He was a human being created by God and was a prophet.” “Have you ever seen any child born in this world without a father?” they asked. The Prophet (SAW) replied: “Jesus is like Adam in the sight of Allah. He created him from dust and then said to him ‘be’ and he was.” They could not answer his argument, but continued to debate the issue. Then the ayah (verse) which invited them to a “Mubahila” was revealed: “To those that argue with you concerning Jesus after the knowledge you have received say: ‘Come, let us gather our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves. We will pray together and call down the curse of Allah on every liar’.”

Eid al-Akbar
The event of Ghadir Khum is the most significant event in the history of Islam that took place on 18 dl-haja of the 10 year after Hijri, when the holy Prophet (pbuh) completed his last pilgrimage of his life. Eid al Ghadir commemorated by Shiat Muslims all around the world every year.
Eid al-Ghadir is not only a historical event, but it should be called Day of Islam because God said on this day, الیوم اکملت لکم دینکم واتممت علیکم نعمتی و رضیت لکم الاسلام دینا [1]
The Prophet (pbuh) and the Imams (as) emphasized the celebaration and rejoicing on this day. The day of Ghadir Khum was celebrated as Eid al-Akbar because on this day not only Ali (AS) is appointed as a successor to the Prophet, but also Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the names of his successors after him All of the descendants of lady Fatima (AS) and Ali (AS) were introduced And he gives the news of the advent of the holy Mahdi(AS) at the end of time.[2]
I hope that all people around the world will celebrate Eid al-Ghadir one day.

[2] -According to Shaykh al-Mufid the Holy Prophet (pbuh) on the day of Ghadir khum said , “I leave behind among you two things which, if you [hold] to them, you will never go astray – that is the Book of God and my family (Ahl al-Bayt).” (Kitab al-Irshad, p. 121)

The purpose of sacrifice in Islam
Surly God doesn’t need meat of sacrifices since He isn’t corporeity nor needy. However, sacrificing animals for the sake of Allah especially in Eid-Al-Adha (Gorban) is an emphatic Islamic recommendation and a part of Hajj rituals.
Generally it is considered two main goals for offering sacrifice:
1. Economic purpose, obviation of economic needs of Islamic society
2. Spiritual purpose: this action is symbol of self-sacrifice and sacrificing self-will for God’s will.
Allah says in Quran: “It is not their flesh or their blood that reaches Allah. Rather it is your God wariness that reaches Him…”(hajj/36)
And Regards usage of Ii He says: “…eat from them, and feed the self-contained needy and the mendicant…” ، (hajj/37)
…………………..
It’s obvious that human being needs meats for his alimentation, although some vegetarians deny this fact. On the other hand, for an animal that might have been died of disease or natural death or eaten by other animals, being slaughtered for a person’s survival is considered its perfection.
It’s necessary to mention that Islam has a lot of orders in good behaving with animals. Generally killing animals with no any reason and needing them and just for enjoying is Harram.

Marriage of Imam Ali and Fatima (P.B.U.T)
The first day of the month of Zi al-Hijah, is the anniversary of the wedding of Fatima (PBUH) and Imam Ali (PBUH) as the marriage day. The marriage of Imam Ali (PBUH) with Fatimah (PBUH) by the command of the Allah is one of the privileges that the Prophet (PBUH) was proud of.
Fatemeh Zahra (PBUH) was the daughter of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the most distinguished maid of her age.
Before Imam Ali (PBUH), people like Abu-Bakr and Omar had asked her, and both heard from the Prophet (PBUH) that they were waiting for the revelation of the Prophet’s marriage Divine.
When Imam Ali (PBUH) went to meet Fatima, the Prophet was at home in Salma. After receiving permission, he saluted and sat down in the presence of the Messenger of Allah. The shame of the Prophet (PBUH) prevented him from asking. The Prophet said to him: «Speak your request»
Imam Ali (PBUH), recounted his demand.
After the ceremony, it was time that Imam Ali (PBUH) provided the dowry for his wife. At that time, all the properties of Imam Ali (PBUH) were limited to a sword and armor, which could be used by them to fight for the sake of God and a camel that worked with them in the garden of Medina. The Prophet (PBUH) admitted that Ali (PBUH) will sell his armor and leave it to the Prophet as a property for Fatima (PBUH). Their marriage was a good model for the Muslim community.

The Marriage of Lady Fatima and Imam Ali (A.S.)
The extraordinary virtues of Lady Fatima (p.b.u.h) on one hand, her blood relations with the Prophet on the other hand, and the nobility of her family furthermore, caused many of the high-ranking supporters of the Prophet to propose to her; but all heard negative answers; each time, the Prophet (s) saying: “Her matter is in the hands of her Lord.”
But when Imam Ali (s) expressed his tendency to marry Lady Fatima, the Prophet became cheerful and smiled and Lady Fatima kept quiet. The Prophet interpreted her silence as her assent, then read the sermon of marriage; declared Ali and Fatima husband and wife, and invoked the blessings of Allah upon both of them. All the guests congratulated and feasted upon lamb meat, bread, date fruit and milk. Certainly the dowry of the holy Fatima was not more than 500 dirhams and less than 400 dirhams, while the dowry (tocher/jihaz) of the holiness was prepared with it.
The entire marriage ceremonies of the most important personalities of lslam, were performed in the simplest and most modest way. This was a model for all the faithful to follow, and was a perfect example of an Islamic marriage.
